Early summer in Swaziland...and still it rains! We managed to enjoy a swimming spot in a river that was twice its normal size due to the rains. Even the ever-so-useful Swazi Times warned us of the flooding!
And then we had Thanksgiving. About 50 American ex-pats and friends of American ex-pats gathered to enjoy 3 turkeys and a turducken (note that I managed to brine 3 turkeys in our incredibly small fridges!), and watch football that had been downloaded just in time for the day (nothing is easy over here...friends download American football games overnight on their computers, and then project the games onto walls in order to watch "Monday night football" on Tuesday night).
And then the thunderstorms. The most recent storm hit right as we were at the Swazi-South African border post on our way to a short weekend getaway of diving. After the not-so-fun part of being stuck in the border bathroom for 20 minutes as it rained, winded and thunderstormed, we did get a sky show for the entire rest of the drive as lightning hit across the entire sky behind a ridge of mountains on our way to the beach. Unfortunately that storm dampened one of our precious two days of diving, but did not dampen our spirits!
